The religious education of our children needs to be a priority!
To help accomplish this the KidZone is the area we designate just for kids! Our goal is to have a fun, safe environment where children can learn about the awesome grace that is available to them through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We have two classes in Kidzone, with a great group of volunteer teachers and assistants who are committed to making Kidzone a fun, educational environment. The first class is Ark Buddies for ages 3-Kindergarten. Their class session starts right at the beginning of service on Sundays and uses a variety of age appropriate songs, games, skits, crafts, & snacks to teach the Bible lesson. The second class is the Treehouse Club, for grades 1-5 on Sunday. This group enjoys musical worship with their families in the main auditorium and is then dismissed to Kidzone for class. This class is engaged in sitting down and really studying the Bible but we still make an effort to make it fun and age-appropriate through games, snacks, & other activities.
The class formatting looks very similar. Treehouse Club extends to grade 6. We also use this time to have combined events such as our Faith or Fear Factor Night and Christmas Party.
We have an area downstairs with inflatables and games we often use for outreach events and sometimes during regularly scheduled services. The kiddos love it when we have bonus class time in the FunZone!
Safety is a number one priority at REFC! To help assure this we have background checks ran on every children’s ministry and youth worker before they are allowed to work with children. This may be a bit inconvenient, but it is worth it to protect the vulnerable.
Additionally, children are signed in and out in the main auditorium and only released from Kidzone to their designated adult.
